DTM – Bulldog – Roper’s Roundels Flake
„Roper’s Roundels“ sind kein Strangtabak im strengen Sinne. Für seine Herstellung werden reife, süße Virginiasorten mit einer Prise Louisiana Perique zu einer dünnen Flakeplatte gepresst, die man um ein „Herz“ aus Black Cavendish zu einer Rolle wickelt und zur Verdichtung und zum Erhalt der Form erneut presst. Nach einer weiteren Ruhe- und Reifezeit werden diese Rollen in Scheiben von rauchgerechter Dicke geschnitten. Freuen Sie sich auf einen angenehm kühlen, süß-würzigen Rauchgenuss, getragen von den typischen Aromen bester Virginia-Provenienzen.
Das Handwerk der Tabakspinner reicht zurück bis ins frühe 17. Jahrhundert. Um Tabak lager- und transportfähig zu machen, verspannen sie ähnlich dem „Reeper“ (Seiler, alt-englisch „roper“) das Blattgut Schicht um Schicht fest zu einem endlosen Strang. Derart verdichtet, reift der Tabak nach und entwickelt so sein volles Aroma.
„Roper’s Roundels“ are not ropes in the strict sense. For its production, mature, sweet Virginias are pressed with a pinch of Louisiana Perique to a thin flake plate, which is wrapped to a roll around a „heart“ of Black Cavendish. After a further resting and maturing period, these rolls are cut into slices of smoke-proof thickness. The handicraft of the tobacco spinners dates back to the early 17th century. In order to make tobacco storable and transportable, like the „Reeper“ (Seiler, old-English „roper“), they spun the sheet material layer by layer into an endless rope.
