Pipa Castello wurde 1947 in der Werkstatt von Carlo Scotti, in der Via Fossano in Cantu, mit dem Ziel gegründet Pfeifen herzustellen, die an der Spitze der Qualität und Perfektion stehen. Dabei wurde stets darauf geachtet, dass alle Fertigungsschritte jeder Pfeife, von nur einer Person in Handarbeit erledigt wurden und noch heute verlassen nur rund 6000 Pfeifen den kleinen Betrieb – das ist die Castello-Philosophie. Die Pfeifen orientieren sich dabei sehr stark an der englischen „Klassik“, aber auch typisch italienische Formen fließen in die Gesamt-Ästhetik ein. Castello wird von den Sammlern hochwertiger Pfeifen, überall auf der Welt, sehr geschätzt und viele halten Castello sogar für den Höhepunkt der handgerfertigten italienischen Pfeife.
Die Pfeife ist eine sehr schöne Liverpool/Egg-Variation, mit fehlerfreiem Holz und schöner Maserung. Darum weißt sie ein sehr hohes Grading auf. Sie stammt aus dem Jahr 1994.
Pipa Castello was founded in 1947 in the workshop of Carlo Scotti, in Via Fossano in Cantu, with the aim of producing pipes that are at the pinnacle of quality and perfection. Care was always taken to ensure that all production steps for each pipe were carried out by hand by just one person and even today only around 6000 pipes leave the small company – that is the Castello philosophy. The pipes are very much based on the English „classic“ style, but typical Italian shapes are also incorporated into the overall aesthetic. Castello is highly appreciated by collectors of high-quality pipes all over the world and many even consider Castello to be the pinnacle of the handmade Italian pipe.
The pipe is a very beautiful Liverpool/Egg variation, with flawless wood and beautiful grain. That is why it has a very high grading. It dates from 1994.
